No Vacation
No Vacation
No Vacation is a group of newly found college friends combining surf-tinged music with melodic instrumentals to create a dynamic live set that consists of funky dream-pop and indie-rock grooves.

"[In their debut mixtape "Amo XO"], released last April, the songs in it like "August", "Beach Bummer", and "Lovefool" are the soundtrack lazy days when the sun shines too hot and all you want to do is spend a day in a room or be on a road trip together with your friends." --Nylon Indonesia Magazine
The Bilinda Butchers
The band was originally formed by guitarist / singers Michal Palmer and Adam Honginford, who met in 6th grade at school in Concord, California. They bonded over the Beatles and music in general, and this led to their playing together and starting the Bilinda Butchers in high school. Drummer Ryan Wansley joined the band in 2012. Touring with the band is their friend bassist Eric Mohammed.

The band named themselves after an early inspiration and influence, the guitarist/vocalist of My Bloody Valentine , Bilinda Butchers. Due in part to their name, they are usually considered "shoegaze" or "dream pop", but they often venture into realms beyond these categorizations. Among the bands writers have compared them to are Smashing Pumpkins, the Cure and Cocteau Twins.

The band's members are big fans of Japanese history and pop culture, and have cited Japanese bands such as Luminous Orange, Zazen Boys and Supercar as favorites, as well as Japanese anime like Final Fantasy, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Samurai Champloo and Nintendo video game Animal Crossing (in Japan known as "Dobutsu no Mori")

The Bilinda Butchers have also collaborated with a number of Japanese creatives, the cover art of "Heaven" is by Tsuji Megumi and their EP "Goodbyes" by Yoshinari Asai. They also worked with the Japanese band Lamp on the track "Tanka" and on other material with poet/ narrator Juri Nakashima.

Their inspirations are not limited to Japan. They are big fans of the Swedish band Radio Dept., and occasionally will play a cover of their song "Pulling Our Weight." They also collaborated with Greek singer Sarah P, formerly of the band Keep Shelly in Athens. The Bilinda Butcher's own Michal Palmer is of Polish heritage and speaks the language. They have also inspired others; rapper Lil B used a sample of "Tulips" for the track "NYU".

The Bilinda have three releases to date-
"Regret, Love, Guilt, Dreams" EP (2012)
"Goodbyes" EP (2012)
"Heaven" album (2014)
