Every few years a new generation of R&B/Soul singers emerges staying true to the rich cultural history of the art form, and at the same time offering a glimpse into the future. The genre has cross-pollinated with pop and hip-hop music adding a contemporary youthful edge, which is lyrically truthful, irreverent, and thought provoking. We have all witnessed the global impact of pop stars Adele, Beyoncé and future soul newcomers, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Andra Day. 22-year-old San Diego native, Danielle Alexa echoes these icons and brings a tool kit laden with melodic and memorable soul pop hooks encased in hi level- musicianship on her eponymous debut.

“I wanted to make an album that reflected the music that I grew up with. Artists like Christina Aguilera, Chaka Khan, Bobby Brown, and The Gap Band all were major influences on my development as a vocalist and songwriter. I am honoring that tradition and at the same time offering something new that hopefully sounds fresh and interesting.”

Produced by, Guy Eckstine, throughout her debut Danielle offers up a cross section of mid and up-tempo grooves, buoyed by thick synth bass lines, funky drumbeats and atmospheric keyboards. Her lyrics reveal emotional depth well beyond her years, and yet somehow despite her heavy heart the listener is compelled to sing along entranced by Alexa’s sultry delivery. It’s been a long time since a newcomer has offered so much musically and spiritually, acknowledging the frailty of the human condition and overcoming emotional heartache. As the current landscape of pop music reflects strong urban influences Danielle Alexa’s debut is right on time, and surely will get your feet tapping and your mind thinking about much more than the status quo.

Natalya
Singer-songwriter Natalya began performing publicly at age four, and quickly carved out an impressive profile in the entertainment world. At seven, she was the youngest actor ever cast in the critically acclaimed Old Globe Theater Company's musical "How The Grinch Stole Christmas." Shortly after, she caught the eye of musical giant, PRINCE, which began a long and invaluable artistic collaboration and friendship. She was featured in numerous PRINCE musical projects, including his "A Million Days" video. Natalya also has the noted distinction of being a recording artist on the song that served as the wake up call for astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour's final flight. In her early twenties, Natalya's talents and achievements as a songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist, music producer, video producer, and artist are already unmistakably world class.
